NINA RYCROFT graduated from Randwick in 1992 with a diploma in graphic design and spent 10 years working as a designer in both Sydney and London. In London Nina met her husband Andy, they moved to Rome for nine months before settling down in Sydney. It was her time in Rome that Nina developed ideas for what was to become he first children's book, Little Platypus. Little Platypus was published in 2000 receiving a CBCA notable book 2001.

In 2003 Nina moved with Andy to the Blue Mountain where they now live with their children Charlie (7) and Jayme (3). Since the move Nina has been busy working on a number of books including TRICKY LITTLE HIPPO and ELEPHANT DANCE.
